Design Inspiration

The owners of this freshly remodeled home in Parker, CO wanted to preserve as much natural light as possible during the day and have complete privacy at night. It was also important to them that the window coverings would hide away into almost nothing when they were up. Big windows are great to bring light in and open up a house, however, they let cold and heat in. With a tight stack and insulation in mind the homeowners decided that the Duette® Honeycomb shade from Hunter Douglas would be the perfect custom window treatment for their Parker home.

Smart Automation

The owners of this Parker home never wanted to have to manually position any of their window coverings, they wanted them to be open at sunrise, and close after sunset. Using PowerView gen III smart automation from Hunter Douglas, we programmed all of the motorized shades to exactly as the client asked. Because the client knew they wanted motorized smart shades before they started the remodel process, they hardwired every window. With hardwired motorized shades, the homeowners will never have to worry about changing dead batteries or recharging cattery tubes.

The Result

Since the Duette® honeycomb shade from Hunter Douglas is made in Broomfield, CO, it only took 2 weeks for the clients window coverings to arrive in our warehouse. They were installed in the same week and the client couldn’t be more happy.

We decided to use a beautiful fabric from the Alustra™ collection to enhance the woodwork on the ceiling. We also decided to make all of the hardware black. When the shades are up they blend into the black window, and when they are down it creates a beautiful contrast with the light fabric.
