Overview
When someone asks whether they have to put the same window covering in every room, this is the house we point at.
Celebrity Custom Homes builds in Pradera, and this was their model — the home buyers walk through before they commit to anything. Thirty-two windows, three Hunter Douglas product lines, six different fabrics and materials.
None of that was variety for its own sake. Each space got the product its job called for, and the fabrics were chosen afterward so the rooms still read as one house.
Getting in before the drywall
New construction gives us something a finished home never can: access to the walls.
On Celebrity's builds we are in before drywall. That means wiring for motorized shades can be run properly, headrails can be pocketed into the ceiling so nothing hangs proud, and window dimensions can be checked against what is going in front of them.
It also means the budget gets set while it can still be adjusted, instead of arriving as a surprise at the end.
- Run wiring for motorization
- Build recessed pockets for headrails
- Confirm clearances before framing closes up
- Set a working budget while it is still flexible
Vignette® Roman shades in the bedrooms and baths
Guest bedrooms and bathrooms got Vignette® Roman Shades — a softer, fabric-forward look for the rooms where people sleep and get ready.
The useful part is the Top-Down/Bottom-Up operation. Drop the shade from the top and daylight comes in over the window while the lower half stays closed. You get the light without being on display to the street.
Designer Screen Shades in the office
The office needed the opposite of privacy. Its windows run nearly floor to ceiling across two walls, and by mid-afternoon the glare made the room hard to work in.
Designer Screen Shades handle that without closing the room off. The screen fabric cuts glare and heat while staying transparent enough to keep the view.
This is where fabric openness actually matters. Two screen shades that look identical from across a room can behave completely differently — how much you see out, how much anyone sees in, how much heat gets through. Choosing that number is most of the work.
Provenance® woven woods in the living areas
The main living spaces got Provenance® Woven Wood Shades. The material is the point: real woven grasses and reeds, set against a lot of painted drywall and stone.
In rooms that size a flat fabric would have disappeared. The weave gives the windows something to say.
Why three products instead of one
There is no single best window covering. There is only the best one for a particular room, with particular light, used a particular way.
Vignettes gave the bedrooms softness and adjustable privacy. Screen shades made the office workable without walling it off. Woven woods brought warmth to the large rooms. Three products, six fabrics, one house that still hangs together.
For plenty of homes the right answer genuinely is one product everywhere. This one was not that home.
