Hardwood
Heritance®
Real hardwood with the most warmth. It is the line we point people toward for formal living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms, where the room is climate controlled and the grain is part of the point.

735 Park Street, Unit L, Castle Rock, CO 80109
Service area · Highlands Ranch
Highlands Ranch is inside our regular service area, and our showroom is a short drive south in Castle Rock. If you want shutters that read as part of the room and stay that way, we measure your actual windows, recommend the right line for each opening, and give you a price in one visit.
Why local matters
When the designer, the installer, and the warranty center are all the same local company, the small things go right, and they stay right for years.

Every set is custom made to your openings, so the panels sit square and the fit stays clean. Which line goes where depends on light, moisture, and how hard the room works.
Hardwood
Real hardwood with the most warmth. It is the line we point people toward for formal living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms, where the room is climate controlled and the grain is part of the point.
Polysatin composite
A composite built to shrug off moisture, warping, and hard sun. That makes it the sensible pick for bathrooms, kitchens, and the west facing walls that take the afternoon in a Highlands Ranch home.
Hybrid
A hybrid that keeps the look of wood with more of the durability of composite. It is a good middle answer when one order has to cover rooms with very different conditions.
Still weighing the options? Our guide to popular shutter materials walks through hardwood against composite, and the plantation shutters buying guide covers louver size, mounting, and finishes. You can also see the full shutters range.
Designing for Highlands Ranch
Highlands Ranch homes come with a specific set of conditions, and they change the recommendation. Here is what shapes it.
Most of Highlands Ranch sits under community association covenants, and several sub associations add rules of their own. Where a covering is visible from the street, those rules usually call for a white or neutral exterior face. Shutters make that easy, because the louver face you see from outside is the same finish across the whole elevation. We build to those rules as a matter of course, and if you are not sure what your community requires, tell us the address and we can usually find out.
A lot of Highlands Ranch homes were sited to look west at the foothills, which is wonderful until about four in the afternoon in the summer. Louvers are the reason shutters handle this better than a flat panel of fabric. You can tilt the lower louvers closed against the glare and leave the top open, so the room stays usable and you keep the view.
Highlands Ranch is roughly a mile above sea level, so there is less atmosphere between your south and west windows and the sun. Floors, furniture, and artwork fade faster here than they would at sea level. On the brightest rooms we usually recommend a composite louver over hardwood, or a solar screen layered behind the shutter, and we will tell you which one your room actually needs.
Colorado air is dry and the temperature can swing thirty degrees in a day, and real wood responds to both. Hardwood is the right answer in a controlled interior room where you want the warmth of real wood. Composite is the safer answer in a bathroom, a kitchen, or on a west facing wall that bakes every afternoon. Most homes we do end up with a mix, and that is on purpose.

Highlands Ranch questions
Yes. Highlands Ranch is inside our regular service area. We come to your home, measure your actual openings, recommend the right shutter line for each room, and give you an itemized price in one in-home appointment. Our own salaried installers do the installation, and every product carries a lifetime product warranty.
No. We bring samples to your home anywhere in Highlands Ranch, and the measure, the recommendation, and the price all happen there. The showroom at 735 Park Street, Unit L in Castle Rock is worth the drive if you would rather operate a full size shutter panel in person before you decide, and it is the only Hunter Douglas Gallery showroom in Castle Rock.
There is no flat price, because the number depends on the size of the openings, how many there are, the shutter line you pick, and the finish. Rather than quote a guess, we measure your actual windows and give you an honest, itemized number in a single appointment. Shutters cost more up front than blinds, and they are built as a permanent fixture that stays with the house.
We install three Hunter Douglas interior lines. Heritance is real hardwood, which suits formal living and dining rooms. Palm Beach is a polysatin composite that resists moisture, warping, and hard sun, which makes it the sensible pick for bathrooms, kitchens, and bright west facing walls. NewStyle sits between the two. Your designer matches the line to each room rather than to the whole house.
We can usually get a designer to a Highlands Ranch address within a few days. Call 303-663-8120 and we will tell you the next open slot. From consultation to installed product is typically about four weeks, because custom Hunter Douglas orders are built to your measurements and most of that window is manufacturing time.
Our own installers, on our payroll. We do not subcontract, and you get a photo of your installer before they arrive. Every product carries a lifetime product warranty. On top of that you get free in-home service for the first 5 years, with parts, labor, and the trip charge included. After 5 years a small trip charge applies for a service visit, and the lifetime product warranty still stands.
