Never touch your window coverings again
Imagine shades that open at sunrise, drop halfway at noon to kill the glare on your screen, and close at sunset so dinner is uninterrupted. With PowerView® automation, your windows move around your day — by remote, by app, by voice, or on a schedule you set once and forget.
Who it's best for
- Hard-to-reach windows — stairwells, high great-rooms, behind furniture
- Anyone who wants shades on a schedule instead of a chore
- Smart homes using Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Home
- Homes with children or pets, where eliminating cords matters

Your options, in plain terms
PowerView® Gen III
Hunter Douglas's latest automation. Control any shade by remote, the PowerView® app, or your voice — or let it run on a schedule and never touch it again.
Schedules & scenes
Set shades to follow the sun automatically, or trigger a whole-room 'scene' with one tap — Morning, Movie, Away. The house adjusts itself.
Voice & app control
PowerView® works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Home, plus the PowerView® app on your phone — so shades fold into the routines you already use.
Cord-free and safe
Motorized shades have no cords at all, which is the safest option for children and pets — and the cleanest-looking one on a tall or wide window.

Worth thinking through
Design considerations
Battery or hardwired?
Most homes use rechargeable battery wands — no electrician required. For new builds we can plan hardwired power into the framing. We'll advise during your consultation.
Which windows to automate first
Automation pays off most on the windows you fight with daily — high or hard-to-reach openings, big banks of glass, and rooms you want on a sunrise/sunset schedule. You don't have to do the whole house at once.
Built in, not added on
Motorization is built into the shade — it isn't a part we bolt onto an existing covering later. If automation is on your wish list, it's worth deciding before you order.
Good to know
Common questions
Does motorization work with my smart home?
Yes. PowerView® integrates with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Home, so you can fold shades into the routines you already use.
How are motorized shades powered?
Most use a rechargeable battery wand that lasts months between charges — no wiring needed. Hardwired power is an option for new construction, and a few specialty products (like illuminated shades) must be hardwired. We'll match the right power source to each window.
What's the warranty on the motors?
Hunter Douglas covers its motorization components for 5 years from the date of purchase, on top of the limited lifetime warranty on the shade itself.
What happens if a motorized shade stops working?
We're an authorized Hunter Douglas repair center for Douglas County. If you bought from us and a shade stops working, we send a technician to fix it — no trip charge, no labor fee.
